Who can take advantage of what MAS has to offer

MAS East Midlands services are open to any manufacturing company based in the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland

The definition of manufacturing used is quite broad and distinguishes between ‘production’ (the physical processes of making) and ‘manufacturing’ (the over-arching process of getting raw materials to goods and their associates services). By taking this approach to defining manufacturing it becomes easier to see that although an organisation may choose to outsource its production activities, it remains at heart a manufacturing company.

Although MAS East Midlands mainly provides support to manufacturers that are Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), Large Enterprises can also benefit. However, free and subsidised support is available only to SMEs or subsidiaries of Large Enterprises that operate as SMEs (conditions apply, contact MAS East Midlands for full details). Large Enterprises are expected to pay the current market rate for the services they receive beyond a general enquiry.

The definition of an SME is a business that has:

  • less than 250 employees
  • an annual turnover of less than or equal to €50M and/or an annual balance sheet of less than or equal to €43M.

To find out if you are eligible for free or subsidised MAS services please contact the MAS East Midlands team on 0845 270 7620.
