Improving Quality and Delivery

'Meeting delivery dates is essential, and our improved work processes will ensure that we can function at maximum efficiency at all times'
Menna Roberts, Brodwaith Cyf

Many manufacturers continue with their current work practices simply because they already exist and are part of their culture, this is not always a good thing and simple 'tweaks' could achieve a great deal in improving the quality of production, the end product and the delivery mechanisms.

MAS (Manufacturing Advisory Service) practitioners can help create a better production flow and unit layout, reorganise work flows which will result in better communication within the unit, and will also result in significant productivity gains.

They are able to review a company’s systems and structures and introduce formal procedures for carrying out a broad variety of tasks such as tackling 'out-of-stock' problems yet keeping stock holding to a minimum.   Developing a systematic approach reduced the potential for errors to be made, and ensures the smooth running of the business if key staff members were off sick, or taking annual leave. Other opportunities included scope to increase the integration of design and manufacturing to improve new product development and design for manufacture.

Since its inception MAS has worked with hundreds of companies improving quality and delivery as a major part of its work which in turn has resulted in noticeable and quantifiable results. To find out how they can help you contact your local regional MAS. More information is available on improving quality and delivery in our resource library, simply register to access.
