Stuart Hilton - MAS Operations Manager
Stuart manages the Manufacturing Advisory Service in the East Midlands. Stuart manages a team of Advisors and he is also engaged in strategic development of the programme and all areas of operational procedure and management. He is responsible for all aspects of client engagement from initial contact, through to the development of Innovation Plans and the successful management of delivery.
Stuart joined IDM Electronics Ltd as a Development Engineer responsible for the development of rotating joints for fibre optic systems and associated
components, progressing to sales manager before leaving to join Moog Controls ltd in 1999.
At Moog, Stuart was involved with a diverse range of industrial markets including: - Power generation, Motorsport, Plastic blow and injection moulding, Heavy engineering (Steel), Special machinery, Materials testing, Defence, Oil exploration, Offshore, Simulation and training and textile manufacturing. Stuart was responsible for strategic planning, tactical problem solving in support of the business growth organisation, setting targets, directing activities and departmental management. This experience has taught the need for constant innovation, and the rigour of profitably taking new products to market through differentiation.
Stuart, having joined Pera in 2004 initially as an Innovation Practitioner, is now the Operations Manager of the East Midlands Manufacturing Advisory Service and has been since 2008.
Stuart graduated from the University of Reading in 1984 with an honours degree in Physics with subsidiary Mathematics.
