Ross Ryan – MAS Advisor
Ross’s role involves liaising with manufacturers in the region and performing Manufacturing Reviews on a face-to-face basis to identify areas for business improvement. Using his wide experience in the manufacturing sector, he analyses process and creates detailed reports that structure a plan for moving forward. The final part of his role is helping companies find consultants to support them and ensure that project are eligible for grant funding. Ross's priority county is Lincolnshire.
Ross has specialised in change management combined with business leadership and innovation in manufacturing industries. Leaving the role of Managing Director at an established company. He also held a corporate consultative role with Avon Rubber Plc. He is a commercially focused executive with extensive business development experience across a number of market sectors, active on a global basis, working in Central Europe, USA & UK. Ross also carries a successful track record in change management both in domestic and multi-cultural business settings. Some of Ross's successes include;
Deployment of business strategy into detailed sales & marketing plan for Polymer Engineered products. Through key account management enhanced customer satisfaction and maximised growth opportunities achieving 17% growth target.
Established commercial framework with Suzuki in Hungary & Japan for supply of engine & suspension components. Project Managed the transfer of technology from Bridgestone including; tool manufacture, localization of material supplies, preproduction sample approvals, volume production ramp-up. New business worth £500k per annum and developed strategic alliance with Far Eastern trading partner.
Targeted technical selling strategy through Automotive OEM manufacturers and 1st tier customers. Coordinating business team to deliver new product introduction programs, responsible for product design / process engineering through a concurrent “value engineered” model. Delivering over £11m of new business for engine mounts & suspension bushes.
Secured development contract for VW Beetle coolant hoses, for ultimate manufacture in Mexico. Technical support based in Germany & initial product manufacture in Czech Republic.
Justified £1m capital expenditure program with joint-venture partners, including market survey and detailed sales strategy. Designed a new manufacturing cell to upgrade the technology & expand capacity in the coolant hose facility in Czech Republic. Generated sales revenues of £2.5m per annum.
Acting as corporate troubleshooter provided support to European operations with issues in supply chain management. During plant closure programs forged key relationships with customers to maintain confidence in continuity of supply during relocation of manufacturing facilities.
Ross graduated with a 1st Class Engineering Degree and a Masters in Business Administration.
